Faux Fused Glass

Faux Fused Glass, also known as "Shattered or Crushed Glass Art", was not what I thought it was the first time I saw the beautifully created glass crosses on Pinterest.  I seriously thought it was fused glass similar to the pieces you create with glass using a kiln.  Being that I do love quick projects to make I was excited to begin my own journey with this art process. (See tutorial link below).  I really enjoyed making these crosses.  They were made for the ladies who cared for my mom during her advancement in Parkinson's symptoms over the past years.  The mermaid and turtles were made for one caregiver who is not Christian.  That one was fun to make!

When I first saw this art, I was blown away by the beauty of each piece that appeared on Pinterest awhile back.  Being a stained-glass artist I had totes, the large popcorn tins sold at Christmas, buckets, anything that would hold scrap glass pieces filled and stored in my basement waiting for a project to be made.  The crosses are my favorite, and being able to use the scrap glass has been so rewarding.  Cindy, over at Art Shattered, has tutorial videos you can view at her page or group on Facebook.  Here is her tutorial on how to make the cross.  You can purchase some of her tutorials too.
